The Delegation of the "Arab Brazilian Chamber" Discusses with the "Fujairah Chamber" the Organization of the Food Security and Logistics Forum

A delegation from the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, which included the Chamber’s Secretary General, Tamer Mansour, and the Chamber’s regional advisor, Shaheen Ali Shaheen, visited the headquarters of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where they were received by the Chamber's Director General Sultan Galea Al-Handasi, and the mechanisms for organizing the Food Security and Logistics Forum in the Emirate of Fujairah during the current year were discussed.

Al-Handasi stressed that Brazil is one of the UAE's strategic partners in the field of trade. He appreciated the efforts of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and its role in strengthening relations with the UAE in general and with the Emirate of Fujairah in particular. He pointed out that the volume of trade exchange between Fujairah and Brazil amounted to more than 73 million dirhams in 2021. He welcomed the proposal of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce to organize the forum, pointing to the importance of coordination between the two sides to set the forum's program and the level of participation and attendance from inside and outside the country.

Shaheen Ali Shaheen and Tamer Mansour expressed their thanks to the Fujairah Chamber and its plaudit to the proposal, and stressed Brazil's keenness to increase its exports of halal food products to Arab and Islamic countries. Mansour explained that Brazil is the world's largest exporter of foodstuffs. Noting that the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which are 57 countries, imported foodstuffs worth $190.5 billion, including wheat, corn, sugar, rice, milk and dairy products in 2020, of which Brazil's share amounted to $14.1 billion, according to data compiled by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
